As I mentioned, I have been inspired to create my own installment in the Chex Quest saga: Chex Quest Deep-Sea Adventure. It actually started with a suggestion from my son. After I learned how to create a map with swimmable water, he thought it would be neat to make a level with an underwater theme. He also came up with the idea to search the ships on the open seas.
The Plot
The plot line goes something like this (note: this takes place before the LAZ became available ... however I may replace with another weapon at some point):
| To deal with the growing problem of larger and more menacing Flemoids, scientists have developed a Large Area Zorching (LAZ) device. This new zorch technology can zap the more menacing Flemoids back to their dimension with a single shot. It can even take out several Flemoids at one time. The prototype device is nearly ready for full-scale activation and just in time! The Flembranes have set up a base of operation deep inside the earth near the top secret undersea research center known as the Zorch Development Facility. And to make matters worse, they have infiltrated a small off-shore base and located the convoy of cargo ships responsible for delivering the LAZ prototype back to the development facility. They have stolen the prototype and have even gained access to the development facility itself. Your mission: recover the stolen LAZ, deliver it safely to the development facility for completion, and then use it to infiltrate the Flembrane lair and Zorch them back to their dimension. |

Planned Missions
As of now, there is only a beta version of the episode with missions 1-3 scaled down and packed into a single mission. Plans are to expand the adventure into a full 8 mission episode including:
- Mission 1 - Search the coastal waters along the beachhead to gain access to the undersea caverns.
- Mission 2 - Search the undersea caverns for the science station that will teleport you to the deep sea location of the hijacked cargo convoy.
- Mission 3 - Search the ships in the convoy for the stolen LAZ. Then find the teleport coordinates to the secret undersea location of the Zorch Development Facility.
- Mission 4 - Find the laboratory located in the development facility and deliver the LAZ to the scientists. To access the lab, you'll need to find three keys: first key - yellow.
- Mission 5 - Continue searching the facility for the red key.
- Mission 6 - Continue searching the facility for the blue key and enter the science lab. The scientists will complete the LAZ and fully activate it.
- Mission 7 - With your LAZ device ready to go, find the undersea caverns where the Flembranes are hiding.
- Mission 8 - Search the undersea caverns for the Flembranes and return them back to their dimension.
- Mission 9 - If you can find the secret entrance to the test range, enjoy testing out the LAZ on a variety of simulated flemoids!
